Debra currently resides on the South Side of Vancouver Island in the beautiful province of British Columbia Canada. Her work draws from her life experiences. She also explores her Indigenous Metis way of life in her art.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eShe was injured in a terrible farming accident involving a post hole auger attached to the power take of shaft in the Summer of 1999. In a matter of seconds, her life was forever changed. During her accident both of her arms were amputated above the elbow, her right leg was paralyzed and she suffered 2 incomplete spinal fractures and 15 broken ribs among several other broken bones and dislocated joints. Debra’s injuries have not stopped her from enjoying life. She has learned to persevere and has carried her perseverance to her art practice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eDebra could not remember a time in her past when she didn't own a sketchbook and drawing pencils. After a lengthy recovery she decided to pursue art more seriously. Debra applied to the Mouth and Foot Painting Association and she was accepted. She wanted to improve her artistic skills so, she decided to go to University. She received a Bachelors of Fine Art ( BFA) in 2018 and has continued learning about art everyday.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: left;\"\u003eShe creates beautiful artwork using watercolour, acrylics and drawings mediums. She is always working to improve her artistic skills in order to challenge her growth as an artist.
