MEET MOUTH PAINTER - SHANE LYNCH
Born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Shane Lynch learned from an early age the value of hard work and determination. In 1992, at just 16, Shane was involved in a car accident that caused a spinal cord injury resulting in tetraplegia. After almost a year in hospital and rehabilitation, Shane returned home determined to continue moving forward.
It was during his rehabilitation that Shane created his first painting. He went on to complete high school with distinction, taught himself to use a computer, and worked as a technical consultant before earning a diploma with distinction in Business Administration and Accounting in 2007.
In 2009, after rediscovering Bob Ross's The Joy of Painting and researching painting techniques online, Shane decided to teach himself to paint with his mouth. The beginning was challenging and frustrating, but he persevered. With practice, his technique improved quickly, and painting became an important part of his life.
Shane's journey into mouth painting reflects his determination to keep learning, creating and pursuing new possibilities, regardless of the challenges he has faced.
