Niagara Mouth painted by Stéphane Daraiche
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Stéphane Daraiche was born in 1968 in Longueuil, Quebec. At the age of seven, he was injured in a car accident that left him with spastic tetraplegia. Soon after, he began drawing and painting with his mouth, at first simply to pass the time. He quickly found the work inspiring and went on to develop his skills largely on his own, teaching himself as he went.
Working mainly in oils, Stéphane favours landscapes and portraits. His work has been shown in numerous exhibitions, and his artistic achievements have been recognized by the City of Valleyfield. In 2006, he became a Scholarship Holder with the Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists.
