Safari Sunset Mouth painted by Amanda Orichefsky
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Shortly after birth, Amanda Orichefsky was diagnosed with arthrogryposis, a condition that caused paralysis in all four limbs. She underwent numerous extensive operations to correct, as far as possible, the position of her hips and her club feet. When she was ten years old, doctors also diagnosed scoliosis. Today, Amanda lives in Toronto, where, with help from her family, she cares for her daughter.
From a very early age, Amanda has used her mouth to paint and draw. She began with pencil and switched to crayons after attending the meeting of artists from the USA and Canada in Atlanta. Today she paints and works in a variety of media. A dedicated mouth painter, she enjoys taking part in public events such as talent shows and exhibitions.
